2.5 Assign a Category to an Application
Once you have assessed an Application you will want to assign it a Category.
This will help in the future when wanting to locate groups of Applicants easily - a huge time saver. For example, Pamela's Pottery is away next week and I want to look at other handmade/artisan Applicants to fill her spot , OR I need to email all Applicants that are Food Stalls to communicate a new requirement issued by Council. Sorting Applicants by Category is extremely helpful. We manually assign Categories in Stall Manager, for 100% accuracy.
To assign a Category;
Looking at the list of applicants, look across the list to the Category column.
Click the Set Category field. A drop down menu will appear.
Select the Category you want to use for this Applicant by moving your cursor down the list and click on the one you want.
To create a new Category (often done when using Stall Manager for the first time) select Add New Category at the bottom of the drop down list. A pop-up window will appear. Type the name of your new category in the field box. Click OK. This newly created category will be assigned to your Applicant, and from now on that newly created category will appear in the drop down box.
HANDY HINT: It is best to keep a check on the number of categories you create and use. You will use these categories later on to help locate groups of people. Ideally, categories here should match the categories listed in your application form. Examples include; Food Stall, Handmade/Artisan, Fashion, Children's etc.
